Assistant 2D Illustrator

We're looking for a illustrator to assist our Lead Concept Artist in rendering and develop assets for production. Outside of producing assets and illustrations for print and the web, you will have the opportunity to craft fantastical worlds, sculpt our heroes, and bring legendary stories to life with the stroke of your Wacom pen.

The ideal candidate will be a lover of fantasy and gaming, with an appreciation for old-school gaming aesthetics. You should be able to interpret verbal and written descriptions, and work well within a tight-knit team.

But most important of all, you'll be excited by the opportunity to improve your skills as an illustrator as you participate in a wide range of illustration projects.

Essential Skills:

  • Commercial proficiency with Photoshop, familiarity and willingness to learn Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Understanding and love of fantasy themes and styling.
  • Able to handle the stress of working to rigid deadlines.
  • Respect confidentiality and uphold all intellectual property security policies of the company.
  • Thrives as part of a team. We're making something bigger than the sum of its parts!

Media & Marketing Manager

Are you passionate about gaming as a medium that brings people together? Are you in your element starting, engaging, and shaping the online conversation about things important to you? Do you love organizing things for people to do and making them feel great about being involved?

Key Roles:

  • Being the voice of the company in the online media sphere.
  • Engaging with content creators to create value for them and their audience.
  • Event planning and organization of event logistics (venues, staff, travel, materials required).
  • Working with Organized Play (OP) partners to deliver programs and events.
  • Organizing event coverage and/or being part of the event coverage team at major OP events.
  • Working with our creative department to produce marketing assets for products, programs, events, and more!

Experience & Skills:

  • Talented communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Acting as a representative voice in a professional capacity.
  • Outgoing personality who thrives in a social environment.
  • Event planning.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience playing Trading Card Games, in particular booster draft.
  • Experience with online paid advertising and reporting on campaign effectiveness.
  • Content creation/production experience (written and/or video).

This is a full-time position based in Newmarket, Auckland. Domestic and international travel required from time to time, paid for by the studio.

TCG Developer (Newmarket, New Zealand)

We are looking for a game developer to join our existing TCG development team. You will be working with our Game Designer and other Game Developers on our flagship TCG, Flesh and Blood.

This involves long sessions of strenuous game testing and documentation.

This is a serious role. This is not a position for people who only want to play games all day, though a passion for gaming is certainly required. The successful applicant is someone intent on advancing their career in the game industry.

This is a full time position. The successful applicant must work on-site from our Newmarket location.

Recent graduates welcome.

Essential Skills:

  • Analytical thinking.
  • High level of written profiency. 
  • You must be driven to win, but able to lose.
  • Prior Trading Card Game experience required.
  • A mature, serious attitude about life and work.
  • Ability to work under instructions and strict deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of the secondary card market is a plus.
